NEWS RELEASE: October 16, 2026
DECEASED NAME FOR NEWS: Sherry Rene Baggett
Sherry Rene Baggett, 69, of Center, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2026, in Center.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2026, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in
Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Watson & Sons Chapel with
Bryan Tyre officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Nacogdoches.
Born September 1, 1957, in Mesa, Arizona, Sherry is the daughter of Tillman James Rackley and Ruth Marie
Huggins Moore. She was a great mother, grandmother, and great grandmother- the glue that held the family
together.
Sherry René Baggett was known by many names—sweetheart, Sugar, Momma, Mom, Grandma, and Aunt
Sherry—but no matter what you called her, you knew you were loved. Sherry had a love for life’s little joys. She
took great pride in her Native American heritage and enjoyed learning about her ancestry and the generations
that came before her. She loved getting her hair done, anything turquoise, hummingbirds, cardinals, dancing,
listening to Willie Nelson, and of course, a good trip to the casino. Above all, Sherry loved her family, especially
her two daughters, Desirae and Delainey, who held a special place in her heart. She cherished her sisters and
brother and loved bringing everyone together. She especially enjoyed hosting holidays and parties, filling her
home with family, laughter, dancing, and memories. She loved a good family game night, whether it was
checkers, Pictionary, Yahtzee, or everyone’s favorite, Kids Charades. There was never a shortage of laughter
when Sherry was around. Although she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she has been
reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband. Sherry will forever be remembered for her laughter, her love, her
pride in her roots, and the countless memories she leaves behind. Her spirit will live on in every family gathering,
every game night, every Willie Nelson song, every dance, and every hummingbird and cardinal that comes our
way. Forever loved and forever missed, our Momma, Mom, Grandma, and Aunt Sherry.
She is survived by her daughters, Delainey Baggett and husband LaMarcus of Center and Desirae Hart and
husband Thomas of Spring; grandchildren, Kailie Tate, Alexis Tate, Keira Tate, Skylar Perry, Bronson Perry, and
Brandt Perry; multiple great grandchildren; and sisters, Glenda Hanway of Nacogdoches and Emily Conrad and
husband Michael of Center.
Preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Baggett; parents, Tillman James Rackley and Ruth Marie Huggins
Moore; and brother, William Barker.
