Ms. Kilpatrick was born November 2, 1927, in Pampa, to Dudley Williams and Myrtis Melinda Nolan Williams.  She loved quilting, crocheting, sewing and gardening. Ms. Kilpatrick was a member of Old Center Baptist Church.

Mr. Odell Caraway 91 of Timpson passaed away on thursday night in Timpson.  His service will be held this Thursday at 1:00 pm at the Smith Chapel Baptist Church, his wake will be held Wednesday nigh from 6-8 pm  at the New Prospect Baptist Church in Timpson.  Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemeter in Timpson, with Rev. Rayford Caraway officicating.  He is survived by 4 sons, 4 daughter, 1 sister-in-law, 24 grand children, 17 great grand children. 

Betty Jo Ramsey Harbison

Betty Jo Ramsey Harbison, 84, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in Nacogdoches, Texas.  She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on June 06, 1931, the daughter of Jacob Albert Ivy and Sarah Ella Powers Ivy.  Funeral services for Betty will take place on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson, Texas, with Chaplain Don Barron officiating.  Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00-7:00 PM at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson, Texas.
Betty grew up in the Silas community in Shelby County.   She had many varied interests. She found great joy in cooking and baking goods for her community.  Betty enjoyed gardening, and reading in her spare time.    
Betty is survived by her sons, Wayne Lee Ramsey and wife, Valerie of Logansport, Louisiana, James Wade Ramsey of Nacogdoches, Texas; daughters, Vickey Ramsey of Nacogdoches, Texas, Jeannie Cruze of Garrison, Texas, Mary Amstutz of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Younda Dunman, Clint Ramsey, Adrian Wayne Ramsey, Gavin Clay Henderson, Lacci Jo Henderson, Jolynn Pína, Justin Lee Bates, Thomas James Ramsey, Johnathon Ramsey, Gary Sanford; and 19 great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Sarah Ivy; son, Barney Joe Ramsey; daughter, Mickey Sue Ramsey, and grandson, Jacob Tucker.

In the past she was active in the Tenaha Lions Club, Kermit Bass Club and she also enjoyed the ladies sewing group at her church.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Letha Barlow, her husband, Herman “Hap” McCall, her brother, Edgar and her great grandson, Kiley Chaney.

Bobbie Tom (Davis) Tamplin

 
 
 
Bobbie Tom (Davis) Tamplin, 90, of Houston, TX (formerly of Huxley, TX) passed away peacefully on April 13, 2016 with loved ones at her side.
 
A memorial service will be held at Watson and Sons Funeral Home in Center, TX on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 11 a.m.  Visitation will be at 10 a.m. (1 hour prior to the memorial service).  Interment will follow the memorial service at Strong Cemetery in Huxley, TX.
 
Bobbie was born in Shelby County in East Texas on September 12, 1925 to Roy and Beatrice “Bea” Davis.  She graduated from Stephen F. Austin University and later continued her education earning a Masters of Education from University of Houston in 1955.
 
On June 2, 1951 she was united in marriage to Otis Brodie Tamplin.  They were married a month and a half shy of 65 years.
 
After marriage, Bobbie and Brodie moved to Port Neches, TX to raise a family, with son, Michael “Mike” and daughter, Jane Ann.
 
Bobbie was an active member and Sunday School leader at First Baptist Church in Port Neches for many years.
 
She made a career as a teacher for 39 years; teaching at Strong,  Huxley, and Ballard in East Texas, and Bridge City, Port Neches Elementary and Port Neches-Groves High School.
 
After retirement she and Brodie moved back to East Texas to live in the piney woods near Toledo Bend.  They were active members at Lydia Baptist Church while in East Texas.  In 2008 they moved to Houston to be closer to their daughter.
 
She is survived by husband, Brodie Tamplin; daughter, Jane Ann Burnap and son-in-law, Walt Burnap; grand-daughter, Brooke Ainsworth and her husband, Ron Ainsworth; many nieces and nephews; and many cousins, all very dear.  She is pre-deceased by son, Mike Tamplin.
 
The family wishes to thank her doctors and caregivers for their excellent medical care and compassion.  They also wish to thank the kind staff at The Forum Healthcare Center, and the staff and friends at The Village of Tanglewood where they resided for over 6 years.  We are also thankful for the many friends and family that have visited over the years.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.

Ken Biggers was born July 15, 1954, in Center, Texas, to Earl S. Biggers and LaVerne Lee Biggers.  He and his parents lived in East Texas until moving to England in 1962.  In England, he attended USAF - DOD schools at RAF Woodbridge and then graduated from RAF Lakenheath in 1972.  During his high school career, he participated and excelled in all sports, and developed lifelong friendships, which he maintained until his death.  He attended Panola Junior College and then began his oilfield career, spending most of it outside the USA, most recently in Mexico.

Mrs. Windham was born December 25, 1929, in Joaquin, to Walter Scott Bailey and Oda Matilda Walker Bailey.  Her hobbies included genealogy, gardening and traveling. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.  Mrs. Windham was involved in the Caddo-Bossier Computer Club.

Mr. Hopkins was born February 20, 1933, in Shelby County, to George Hopkins and Ruby Louis Counts Hopkins.  He had great interest in genealogy.  Mr. Hopkins and was actively involved in White Rock Church, serving as song leader, adult leader and numerous other jobs.

Mrs. Lois Griffin, age 101 went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 4, 2016 at Garrison Nursing Home, Garrison, Texas . Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Shak Arrington officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm before service.  Burial will be in Libby Cemetery.
Born December 19, 1914 in Rusk County. Lois was the daughter of Alvin and Dossie (Fancher) King, who was a hard working farm family. She and Cal (Tobe) Griffin were married May 13, 1933 and enjoyed 67 years together until his death on May 10, 2000. They lived their entire life in Garrison and Libby area. In addition to her parents, Alvin and Dosie King she was preceded in death by brothers, Julius Moore King and twin brother Lovis King. Three sons, Charles Ray Griffin (infant), Don Griffin, Harrell Griffin and wife Brenda and a very special grandson, Josh Griffin.  Surviving is son Jack Griffin and wife Delores of Garrison, Texas, daughter-in-law Sue Daughtery and husband Ronnie of Garrison, Texas. Grandchildren, Kent Griffin, Kim Avery and husband Ben, Randall Griffin and wife Gayla, Michael Griffin and wife Anna Marie, Allison Griffin, Ricky Don Griffin, Angie Key and husband Jason. Everett Duke Harbison, 80, of Center, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, at his residence.
 
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Mr. Harbison was born May 18, 1935, in Shelby County, to Leon Harbison and Vallie Bell Samford Harbison.  He retired from Center Police Department after 16 years of service and was also Constable in Center for 4 years. Later in life, Mr. Harbison opened EZ Money Pawn Shop and was known for his custom woodwork, making beautiful pistol grips and displays for members of his law enforcement family as well as others. He was a member of Sam Samford Masonic Lodge #149 and New Life Church.
