Tenaha, Joaquin School Boards Meet Today

The Tenaha ISD Board of Trustees will have a called regular meeting at 5:30 this afternoon, and among their agenda items for discussion and possible approval will canvass of the school board trustee election. New members include: Michael Ogden and Vickie Jernigan. In addition, the board will consider approval on the certification of the anticipated tax collection rate for 2014; the certification of 2013 excess tax debt collection; requesting bids on fuel, bread, milk, produce, snacks and cafeteria food and non-food items. The Tenaha trustees will also consider approval of budget amendments as recommended by Superintendent Scott Tyner. These include a facelift to Tiger Gym, drainage and access issues between Tiger Stadium and the band hall, band hall refurbishment for better acoustics and a switch to LED technology in the special events center. Prior to this meeting, at 5:15 there will be a public meeting to discuss federal programs.

 

The Joaquin ISD Board of Trustees will meet at 7:30 tonight, and among their agenda items will be reorganizing the board with the administering of oath to new board members Pam Hearnsberger, Jimmy Hamilton and Chrisco Bragg, and then election of officers. In addition the board will go into closed session for personnel discussion, with any action if needed to take place in open session.
