Tip Leads to Felon Arrested and Drug Bust at Center Motel

According to Shelby County Sheriff Willis Blackwell, his office received a tip that suspect 34-year old David Lewis of Timpson, who was wanted for a count of Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance was staying at the Best Western Hotel in Center, behind Taco Bell. Deputies Pope and Bailey were able to locate Lewis' vehicile at the motel property. The deputies contacted Chief Deputy Shad Sparks and advised that they had located the suspect and he was staying in a room on the top floor. Chief Sparks arrived along with other deputies and assistance from Officer John Welch of the Center Police Department. Upon entry into the room, Lewis was asleep in the bed along with suspect, 19-year old Kristin Wilburn of Joaquin. They were found in possession of 10.6 grams of methamphetamine. The two were arrested and brought to the Shelby County Jail.
