Bobbie Grubbs' Capital Murder Trial Continues

Week one of Bobbie Grubb’s capital murder trial will come to an end today as the jury has heard testimony since Tuesday centering on the events leading up the April 2012 shooting death of Martha Acevedo-Chan, and shooting assault of Quinton Watts and Marilyn Retamar at the Joaquin Country Inn.

The first few days of the trial has included statements from Mary Jane Cashdollar, who was assaulted in her Montgomery County home by Grubbs and his wife Deedra, to two-days later when Grubbs shot the three employees of the motel. Grubbs has said robbery was the motive behind the shootings. This was all revealed through a video confession made by Bobbie Grubbs to a Montgomery County detective. Grubbs has said he should be punished for the crimes and that his wife is innocent.

Bobbie Grubbs is represented by court-appointed attorney John R. Smith.

Deedra Grubbs trial is to start May 27.

The middle-aged couple entered pleas of not guilty to both charges. Both face up to life in prison without the possibility of parole if found guilty.
