City to Re-Open MLK Drive to Traffic Monday

Center City Manager Chad Nehring reports the completed section of Martin Luther King Drive from Shelbyville Street (Highway 87 S) to Garfield Street will be reopened Monday morning, May 12th. The concrete has sufficiently cured and hardened to support the weight of the daily truck traffic to the feed mill. The contractor is working as quickly as possible with some weather delays and slowing construction to ensure access to properties. The remaining construction south of Hopkins Street will begin next week and generally consist of only one-half the roadway at any given time allowing access to adjoining resident's properties during this time.
