The 36th annual Center Broadcasting-Shelby County Bass Angler's Take a Kid Fishing Tournament will be held tomorrow at Huxley Bay Marina on Toledo Bend. When the event started in 1978, it was Center Broadcasting’s vision to create a fishing tournament that would encourage families to spend time together while enjoying the outdoors.

 

Center Broadcasting’s Lori Collins-Alvis says the community and businesses come together to make the traditional event possible.

 

Trophies are given in three age divisions from 3 to 15 years for smallest fish by length, heaviest stringer by weight and largest single bream by weight.

 

In addition, the bass anglers invite kids to take part in their casting contest, where they’ll have prizes!

 

Children that participate in the tournament can expect free food and drinks along with prizes.

 

We are asking that participants be in the weigh-in line no later than 12:30 Saturday afternoon.
