Sixity-nine years ago on May 8th, 1945 the United States and its Allies accepted the formal unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany thus ending World War II in Europe. The United States suffered 213,407 casualties in Europe and Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and it’s Ladies Auxiliary
will remember their service and sacrifice with a wreath laying at the Veterans Memorial on the grounds of the Historic Courthouse. The program will be Thursday, May 8th, at 11 am. As always the public is invited.
