Entries Sought for SCSP Rodeo Queen, Duchess and Princess Contests

We told you yesterday the Shelby County Sheriff's Posse Rodeo will be held June 6 & 7, now comes word entries are being taken for the Queen, Duchess and Princess contest of the rodeo.

 

There are 3 age groups: Queen contestants must be between the ages of 16 and 24; Duchess contestants between 11 and 15, and Princess contestants between 5 and 10 years of age. Age is determined as of January 1. The contestants will compete in speeches, modeling and interviews, as well as horsemanship competition.

 

All competition is open to the public except for the personal interview portion. Entry is open to eligible young ladies who reside in Texas. Reigning royalty include Queen Harli Joe Cowdin of Grand Cane, LA; Duchess Emily Andrus of Carthage; and Princess Leiza Klein of Shelbyville. These young ladies will be making appearances at local sponsor businesses during rodeo week.

A Rodeo Queen clinic will be held Saturday, May 17, from 3:30 to 8:30pm. The cost is $50 which includes pageant notebook and dinner. You're asked to please register by May 14.
