The Hemphill and Sabine County area is mourning the loss of another leader, as Hemphill ISD Superintendent Glenn Ray Pearson will be laid to rest today. He died Sunday at his home from complications of a heart attack while doing yard work. The 80-year old Pearson was currently superintendent of the Hemphill ISD, and according to his obit, the school district saw several building projects, the last being the new elementary school which is currently under construction. Funeral service for Glenn Ray Pearson will be at 4 today in the Hemphill ISD Athletic Complex in Hemphill. It was earlier this month that Sabine County Judge Charles Watson passed away after a long illness.
