Funeral Notices: 4/25/14

Taylor Funeral Home of Timpson announces a memorial graveside service will be held for 67-year old Shelby Ray Crump at 11 a.m. this morning at Woodlawn Cemetery in Timpson. Among his survivors are wife, Gayla, daughters Leah Marie Crump Dailey; Denise Simon and Andrea Wagner; brother, Gregory Dean Crump; and sister Drewan Smith Nugent.

 

Mangum Funeral Home announces graveside service for 61-year old Michael Joe Hutto of Center. Grave side Service will be at 2 this afternoon at New Hope Cemetery in Center. Michael Joe Hutto's survivors include six daughters, Amy Hutto Street of League City, Amber Hutto Isbell, Michelle Hutto, Brandy Hutto, of Carthage, Alicia Hutto of Carthage and Kaylee Hutto of Carthage.

 

Mangum Funeral Home announces service for 87-year old Eugene D. Blount, Sr. of Joaquin. He passed away Thursday at his home, and owned and operated Blount Barber Shop in Haslam, which begain in 1954 where he was known as the “flat top specialist”, and also opened shops in Shelbyville and Gary. Service will be at 10 Saturday at Word of Faith Church in Joaquin, with burial at Willow Grove Cemetery in Joaquin. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Mangum Funeral Home. Among Eugene D. Blount, Sr’s survivors, are, his wife Bernie Beth Blount of Joaquin; children, Eugene D. Blount, Jr. of Joaquin, Sissy Morgan of Waxahachie, Linda Ruth Martin of Humble, Ronnie Blount of Waxahachie and Ricky Blount of Joaquin; 2 brothers, Cline Blount and Bo Blount of Shreveport; and sister, Bobbie Ruth of California.

 

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces graveside service for 81-year old Danny Flournoy of Center. Service will be at 4 this afternoon at Rather Cemetery in Shelbyville. Visitation will be held prior to service from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at Watson & Sons Chapel. Among Danny Flournoy’s survivors are, sons, Andy Flournoy and Wesley Flournoy, both of Center; daughters, Dannette Flournoy and Pam Flournoy, both of Nashville, Ark.; sister, Billie Ann Shepherd of DeQueen, Ark.; and a special friend, Josephine Nichols of Center.

 

Watson & Sons announces service for 6-year old Logan Joel Simmons of Center. He passed away Monday at University Health Hospital in Shreveport. Logan was a first grade student at Excelsior ISD. Service will be at 2 Tuesday at Watson & Sons Chapel, with interment at Shady Grove Cemetery in Nacogdoches County. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 Monday at Watson & Sons Funeral Home. Among Logan Simmons survivors are, his parents, Michael and Sarah Simmons of Center; sisters, Breonna Simmons and MaKenna Simmons of Center; grandparents, Rhonda Alexander of Corrigan, Ronnie McCarty of Nacogdoches, Kay Williams of Nacogdoches and Kennith Simmons of Tawakoni; great grandparents, Ann and Robert Malnar of Corrigan, Wesley Alexander of Nacogdoches, Betty and Walter McCarty of Nacogdoches and Woody Simmons of Tawakoni; and great great grandparent, Margarette Kinder of Cleveland.

 

Garner & Sons Mortuary of San Augustine announces service for 92-year old Mrs. Nola Oliphant of Huntington. Service will be held at 11 Saturday at Sunset Church of Christ, with interment to folow at Greer Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 Saturday at the Church.

 

Garner & Sons Mortuary announces service for 73-year old Mr. Hargis “Mickey” Daniels, Jr. of Hemphill. Service will be at 11 Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church with interment at Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 Saturday at the church.

 

Hicks Mortuary of Center announces service for 69-year old Rufus Dennis Pilot, Sr. of Dallas, formerly of Center.  Service will be at 11 Saturday at Hurst Street Church of Christ, with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Repass will be at Loop 500 Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 this evening at Hicks Mortuary Chapel.

 

Community Funeral Home of Center announces service for 59-year old Leroy Blunt of Shelbyville. Service will be at 2 Saturday at Bennett Chapel Baptist Church in Shelbyville, with interment at Bennett Chapel Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2. Among Leroy Blunt survivors are, his wife, Alice Blunt of Shelbyville, daughter, Shalonda Moore of Center; brothers, MacNeil Blunt, O’Neal Blunt, Donald Ray Blunt and David Goffney, all of Houston, and sisters, Nancy Sexton, Olivia Brinson, Erian Jenkins, Ardella Huffman and Antionette Doublin, all of Houston.

Service will be at 11 Tuesday morning at St. Paul Baptist Church in Center, with interment at Westview Cemetery in Center. The body will lie in state from 10 to 11. Among Lorene Garrett’s survivors are nephews, James Moore of San Augustine and Steve Moore of Nacogdoches; a niece, Lannette Scott of Center.
