The average price for a gallon of regular gas statewide is running about $3.47 a gallon, up another seven cents in the past week, according to gasbuddy.com. In Louisiana, a gallon’s averaging $3.45. Nationally, the average is $3.61, which is up nine cents from the same period a year ago. Here at home, checking prices this morning in Center, there’s several at $3.49, including EZ Mart on Hwy. 96 north, Tenaha Hwy., the Valeros on Hurst St. and San Augustine St., Brookshire Bros. & Wal-mart where its $3.49 a gallon, up a dime in the past week.
