Timpson, Joaquin City Councils Meet Today

When the Timpson City Council meets at 5:30 this afternoon, among the agenda items for discussion and possible action will be receiving a check for $607 from Shelby County as the city’s part from the Child Safety Fee. The city will in turn present the money to the Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Cener; re-appoint James L. Bogue as Municipal Judge; possibly lease the alley behind Peace Feed and Farm Supply to East Texas Extended Care; and garbage problems on Timpson Street. In other business, the 2013 Audit will be discussed. The City of Timpson’s Municipal Court reports over $44, 500 in citations were issued by the city’s police department in March, with $24, 500 the city’s portion.

 

The Joaquin City Council meets at 6 this evening, and among the agenda items for discussion and possible action includes an ordinance establishing rules and regulations regarding sanitation and pollution control of the areas in proximity to the city public water supply wells; designating April as Fair Housing Month; selection of two representatives to attend the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Workshop on April 30 in Lufkin; and approval of bond payment for USDA Water System Improvement Project.
