Softball:

The Center Lady Riders picked up their first district win Tuesday over Diboll, and have a bye Friday. Huntington and Hudson are leading the district race.

District 21-1A, No. 1 state-ranked and undefeated Beckville is on top, with the Shelbyville Lady Dragons in sole possession of second place at 7-3, with the Joaquin Lady Rams and Timpson Lady Bears fighting it out for third at 6-4. Those two will play in Joaquin Friday night.

The Garrison Lady Bulldogs defeat Crockett, 20-0 in three innings last night, and remain atop Dist. 19-2A. Garrison will be idle Friday.

At the recent District 22-2A golf tournament, Garrison’s Jordan Henderson was second medallist shooting a 73, and teammate Doug Prince had an 85 to place fifth, qualifying each for region. The Central Heights boys’ and girls’ teams both took second and will be advancing to the regional event April 14.
