Interesting event took place at the historic Shelby County Courthouse Saturday afternoon. Four individuals attending a wedding for Cody Dawson and Jessica Bridges became stuck in the elevator at the courthouse, just before the ceremony, and remained there for about an hour as the Center Fire Department worked to lower them to ground level.

The wedding party delayed the ceremony for 45 minutes, and according to a family member, the doors opened as the couple said their “I do’s”. The mother of the bride, Jeanie Bridges told me Sunday one of those stuck in the elevator was the grandmother of the bridegroom. She said they’re just glad everyone was OK.
