It took a jury in DeSoto Parish 45 minutes Wednesday afternoon to find capital murder defendant Brian Horn guilty in the death of 12-year old Justin Bloxom. Prosecutors called a number of witnesses the first few days of the trial. In a surprising move, the defense team did not call any witnesses on the fifth day of the trial in Mansfield. Shortly after the jurors were seated around 10:15 Wednesday morning, Defense Attorney Daryl Gold rested his case. Now that he has been convicted, Horn is eligible for the death penalty. Sentencing must take place within 12 hours. That phase of the trial is expected to get under way this morning.
