Trio Charged with Metal Theft in Logansport

Two Joaquin men and a Logansport woman were arrested this week by the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office and charged with the theft of scrap metal and wiring in the Logansport area.

Chief Deputy Horace Womack says the suspects removed the objects from an uninhabited mobile home off Hwy. 191 and sold it at a scrap yard in Center.

Arrested were 46-year old Curtis Bryan Estes, 20-year old Joshua Douglas Prewitt, and 39-year old Kelly Michelle Rogers—all charged with 3 counts of Criminal Trespassing and 3 counts of Theft under $500.

Chief Womack said the trio was caught red handed Wednesday in the process of removing items of metal from the residence. DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s officials say they had a previous complaint at the same location on Monday, and after receiving a call that the suspects had returned, they were taken into custody.

All three admitted to their involvement in the thefts, having been to the residence on three prior occasions, and taking the metal and selling it in Center.
