TP&W To Hold Public Hearing Thursday in Center

A public hearing will be held at 7 Thursday night in Center, as the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department seeks public comment and opinion on potential changes of fishing regulations regarding Toledo Bend Reservoir. The proposal involves the change of harvest regulations for blue and channel catfish to a 50-fish daily bag limit in any combination, of which no more than five blue or channel catfish longer than or equal to 30 inches could be retained. The current regulations (no minimum length limit and 50-fish daily bag limit in any combination, of which no more than five blue or channel catfish longer than or equal to 20 inches may be retained) were implemented on all border waters in September 2011 in collaboration with Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF). The hearing will be held at the Fannie Brown Booth Library at 619 Tenaha Street. The public is encouraged to attend the public meeting and provide comment on proposed changes.
