Strong, Severe Storms Expected Late Today, Tonight


STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD MOVE INTO PORTIONS OF EAST TEXAS AND 
LOUISIANA LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. 
THERE’S A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 20. LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE THE PRIMARY THREATS BUT ISOLATED TORNADOES CANNOT BE RULED OUT.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE INTO SUNDAY BUT THE THREAT FOR SEVERE WEATHER IS EXPECTED TO DIMINISH BY SUNDAY MORNING.

 

·  Today Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 69. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

·  Tonight Showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be severe. Low around 59. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

·  Sunday A chance of rain and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. Northwest wind 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

·  Sunday Night A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

·  Monday A 20 percent chance of rain before 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 57. North wind 5 to 15 mph.
