With the Jasper Air Show set this weekend, I recently had a caller on The General Store inquire about the Center air show, which is sponsored by the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce. I was informed by a chamber representative yesterday that an air show will not be held this year, with hopes of one returning in 2015. However, the chamber will be hosting a Young Eagle Rally on May 17. This is where a youngster has the opportunity to fly with an experienced pilot, discover how airplanes work and how pilots ensure safety is the prime concern. We’ll have more information on the Young Eagles Rally as the event draws closer.
