A Shelby County based health-care provider has expanded its reach with the opening of a facility in Sabine County. East Texas Extended Care of Timpson opened the doors Monday at the Pineland Clinic. The clinic is located in the Pineland Pharmacy building, the old Shockey building at 105 Timberland Hwy.

East Texas Extended Care is open from 8 to 4, Monday thru Friday, with walk-ins accepted. The facility is staffed by a Family Nurse Practioner and Sabine County native, Sharon Byley. A 30-year nursing veteran, Byley graduated West Sabine High in 1977.

East Texas Extended Care has plans to open another clinic this summer in San Augustine, as well as Center later this year. East Texas Extended Care is owned by Justin Timmons and Dawn Barnes, both Center natives.
