Funeral Notices: 2/28/14

Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine announces service for 86-year old Polly Potter Switt of San Augustine. Service will be at 10 a.m. this morning at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, with burial in Liberty Hill Memorial Garden in San Augustine. Among Polly Potter Switt’s survivors are sons, Col. Michael Potter of San Antonio; Jeffrey Potter of Crandall; and Rex Potter of Ft. Worth.

 

Hicks Mortuary of Center announces funeral service for 76-year old Jane Ellen Arnold of Center. She passed away Wednesday in Tyler. Jane Ellen Arnold worked in Center as a nurse for over 50 years in the clinics of Dr. Hunter Mallory, Dr. Stephen Sayers, and Dr. Netherly. She finished her career as plant nurse for Center Hallmark. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 today at Hicks Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 1 Saturday at Bright Morning Star Baptist Church in Center. Among Jane Ellen Arnold’s survivors is a son, Billy D. Harris of Beaumont; daughters, Pamela Martin of Nacogdoches and Tammie Caraway of Tyler; and siblings, Patsy Stephenson, Ida Allison, Debra Davis, Vickie Jackson and David Waterhouse, Jr.

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces funeral service for 84-year old Donald L. “Don” Burt of Center. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 this evening at Watson & Sons Funeral Home. Service will be at 1 Saturday at Watson & Sons Chapel, with interment at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center. Among Don Burt’s survivors are his wife of 58 years, Grace Burt of Center; daughters, Kathryn Leigh Burton of Canton, Georgia and Janet Hairgrove of Center; brothers Vernon Burt of Silsbee and Billy Burt of Jasper; and sister-in-law, Sybil Burt of Nacogdoches.

 

Mangum Funeral Home announces funeral service for 79-year old John Dean Pilkington of the Paxton Community. He passed away Wednesday at his residence. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Mangum Funeral Home. Service will be at 10 Saturday at Ramah Baptist Church in Tenaha, with military honors to follow at Ramah Cemetery under the direction of Barksdale Air Force Base. John Dean Pilkington is survived by his wife, Lynn Pilkington of Paxton; daughters, Donna Mori of San Francisco, Phuong Warren of Gilmer, Lynn Pilkington of Texarkana, and Mun Kelley of Arkansas; and a son, Glenn Pilkington of Longview.

 

Mangum Funeral Home announces graveside service for 88-year old Bonnie D. Lindemann Royal of Webster, formerly of Joaquin. She passed away Wednesday. Graveside will be at 2 Saturday at Oaklawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to service at Mangum Funeral Home. Bonnie D. Lindemann Royal is survived by her husband, Chandler “Chan” Royal of Webster; a son, Charles F. Lindemann; step-daughters, Susan Saunders and Teresa “Tere” Royal; and brother, Ernest “Ernie” Cox.

 

Garner & Sons Mortuary of San Augustine announces service for 25-year old Alex Emil Henderson, aka “Chu-Chu” of Geneva. Service will be at 1 Saturday at Reed Chapel Baptist Church in San Augustine, with interment at Corinth Cemetery in Sexton. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 6:30 today at Garner & Sons Mortuary. Alex Emil Henderson is survived by his mother, Linda Henderson of Geneva; special friend, Angela Gentry of Center; five brothers, Allen T. Henderson of Bossier City, Cedric Holman of San Augustine, Chris Jones of Palestine, Lil Randle Jr. Johnson of Ft. Worth, and Steven Giles of Lufkin; and a sister, Shereta Rochelle Giles of Lufkin.
