Panola College Trustees Approve Out-of-County Fee/Rate Increase

If you live outside Panola County and wish to attend Panola College in Carthage or one of its college centers, including Center or Marshall, it's going to cost you more beginning with the 2014-2015 academic year.

Panola College Board of Trustees approved an increase of fees and rates for students living outside Panola County when they met Monday. According to Charles "Bud"Worley, the director of institutional advancement, Panola College President Dr. Greg Powell discussed the increase in fees with the Student Government Association, and they gave their endorsement. This means starting next academic year, a three-hour course will be increased by $15 for out-of-district and $18 for non-resident.

Worley said the fees are to help offset costs for new course offerings and many of these will be taught at the Shelby Regional Training Center. He added this will help ensure a quality of education from Panola College.
