Duo Escapes Serious Injury in Crash Near Joaquin

The Jaws-of-Life were used to free two individuals involved in a one-vehicle accident around midnight Wednesday near Joaquin. DPS, along with assistance from the Joaquin VFD worked the crash on FM 139. According to DPS Trooper Jade Lavergne, 47-year old Kimberly Rodgers of Logansport, and 41-year old Billye Brock were headed north, when Rodgers' vehicle left the roadway, went airborne over a ditch, before coming to rest in the tree-line. After being freed from the vehicle, Rodgers and Brock were transported by ACE EMS to DeSoto Regional in Mansfield for treatment of minor injuries. Trooper Lavergne said a possible D.W.I charge may be pending.
