Local Sports Roundup 2/13/14

Before the Center Roughriders play their first-round state playoff basketball game next week, there’ll be a couple of district playoff games to determine seeding. Center, Diboll and Jasper have all made the post-season. Tonight at 6, Diboll takes on Jasper in Hudson. The loser of that game will go into the playoffs as the 4th place team. The winner will play Center at 8 Friday night in Hudson. The winner of that district playoff goes into post-season as second place, with the loser third.

Just about the same situation for San Augustine, as the Wolves and West Sabine Tigers wrapped up district tied as co-champions. They’ll meet for a third time to decide playoff seeding at 8 Friday night at the Lufkin Middle School Gym. The winner has a first-round bye.

The Tenaha Tigers-Shelbyville Dragons got their postponed district game in yesterday, with the Tigers taking a 68-34 win to finish 10-0. Tenaha’s the district champs and have a first-round bye. Meanwhile, Shelbyville and Martinsville are the second and third place teams from 22-1A, Div. I. They’re waiting to see who their bi-district opponents will be.

In girls’ playoff action Friday:
