High School basketball action tonight:

 

The Center Roughriders and Lady Riders are home to play the Huntington teams with it being “Ballin’ for Cancer” at Roughrider Gym. The 6-2 Riders are a half-game back of first-place Central, who’s 7-2, and Diboll is also keeping pace at 6-2. In the other district games, 0-8 Carthage goes to 4-5 Hudson; and Jasper, who was upended by Hudson last night, drops into fourth-place at 6-3, will be at Diboll. It’s also the Lady Riders’ last home game of the season tonight.

 

Over in District 22-1A, Div. 1, Tenaha’s alone in first place at 6-0, and will be on the road to Martinsville. The Pirates are tied with Shelbyville for second at 4-2, with the Dragons heading to Joaquin to take on the 1-5 Rams tonight. Gary is 3-3 and will be in Timpson to play the 0-6 Bears.

 

The undefeated 8-0 Shelbyville Lady Dragons can win the outright district championship if they should get past the 4-4 Joaquin Lady Rams tonight.

 

The District 23-1A, Div. 1 race, undefeated West Sabine has a full-game lead on the 5-1 San Augustine Wolves, with Broaddus holding on to a 4-2 record. Tonight, 2-4 Brookeland will be at San Augustine, Broaddus at 1-5 Zavalla and 0-6 Pineywoods at 6-0 West Sabine.

 

Soccer action, the Center Roughriders will be home to play Tatum at 7 tonight; while the Lady Rider Soccer team will be at Tatum for a 5 p.m. start.

 

The Tenaha Lady Tigers soccer team will host Liberty-Eylau (eye-lo) at 5:30 this evening at Tiger Stadium.

 

Weather permitting Saturday, the Center Lady Rider softball team will hosts a three team scrimmage at 2 p.m. Saturday involving the Shelbyville Lady Dragons and Henderson.
