After speaking with Sheriff Willis Blackwell this morning, we now know more about an accidental shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon near Timpson. Sheriff Blackwell said a Timpson area woman received an accidental gun-shot wound when an automatic handgun discharged after she ran into the side of the bed, discharging the gun that was between the mattresses. The round entered the victim’s leg and exited, striking a wall. Chasity Danyell Rogers was treated by Timpson Volunteer Ambulance Service in the 800 block of CR 4020, about three miles from Timpson just before 6 p.m. Rogers was transferred to a Nacogdoches hospital for further treatment.
