Artic Blast Due Today, Sleet, Snow Possible

Old Man Winter makes a return to the area today, as a new Artic blast is moving through the region. We're forecast to have temperatures only near 40 today, with winds blustery out of the north between 15 to 25 mph and gusty. Those strong winds will have wind chills dropped into the lower 20s during the day.

As moisture from the Pacific rides in from the west over the cold air tonight and Friday morning, we're set for the risk of light wintry mix in portions of East Texas and Western Louisiana. Amounts are expected to be small, but there's a chance tonight into Friday. Slightly higher amounts are expected in areas south to southwest of us.

The greater Houston metro area, and southwestward toward Victoria are under a winter storm advisory tonight through Friday, with ice accumulations of up to .15”. Our temperatures tonight will be very cold. Look for lows in the lower 20s, and wind chills in the low to mid teens.

Remember to protect people, pets and pipes, and if you have to be out, drive with caution!
