Shelby County Chamber Sponsoring Shred/Electronic Recycle Event

If you have unneeded sensitive documents, then this Friday, you need to head to the downtown Center Square where the mobile shredding unit will be available from 11:30 to 2:30 p.m. Businesses that wish to bring shred items are  limited to ten file boxes of paper.

The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Shelby Beautiful Clean Committee has partnered with the chamber to sponsor the opportunity. Helping to sponsor the effort are Wayne Christian & Associations, Monco Motor Company, Jennings Place and Town & Country Real Estate. Additional sponsors are welcome to join in and volunteers are needed to assist with Fridays project, as well as the electronic recycling day from 11 to 2 Saturday on the square.

By the way, there are a number of items not allowed at Saturday’s electronic recycling day, such as large household appliances like refrigerators and dishwashers, lawn equipment or anything containing gasoline or liquids, and nor car batteries or smoke detectors. There's a solution to this. Shelby County Commissioners Precincts 1, 2 and 3 will have bins available at their Precinct Barns to accept items not allowed.
