Meeting last Thursday evening, the Center ISD Board of Trustees received word that all campuses and the district “met standard” under the new accountability system per the Texas Academic Performance Report, as presented by Dr. Tammie Lemoine, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.
The board recognized the Chaparrals for their successes and participation in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City; and with it being School Board Recognition Month; members were recognized by the district helping to lead students to success.
During public comment, Greg Hubbard addressed the Board of Trustees expressing concerns for the youth of the community.
he board also approved two overnight trips. The Center Middle School Beta Club’s trip to the annual convention in Dallas, February 13-15, with 52 students, and 4 sponsors attending; and the CHS UIL Academics Team to the UIL Academic Invitational Tournament at Sabine Pass High School on February 28.
CISD Trustees agreed to table until a future meeting, the consideration and approval of lease agreement to relocate transportation yard and operations center. The board voted to change the February and March regular meeting dates to February 6, and March 6.
