Logansport Man, Juvenile Arrested, clears Center Theft

A Logansport man and a 13-year old juvenile were arrested by Desoto Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators recently helping to solve a vehicle theft and the recovery of stolen property from a Center tire store.

According to Chief Criminal Deputy Horace Womack, 23-year old Joseph Tyrelle Simpson is charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile, Trespassing, Criminal Property Damage, Attempted Theft, Felony Theft over $500, Felony Possession of Stolen Property over $500, and Theft of a Motor Vehicle. The juvenile was charged with Trespassing and Criminal Property Damage. Desoto Parish officials report they went to a residence on T.C. Adams Road in Logansport on a simple trespassing complaint and discovered around 65 new tires inside the structure, which the suspect was selling.

It was discovered Simpson had also taken a truck and trailer from a Logansport residence which was found burned in Shelby County. Authorities discovered the truck had been stolen to use in the theft of tractors in the Texas area. It’s reported Simpson is also under investigation for the theft of scrap metal and property damage. The suspect involved the juvenile in several of the offenses.
