A Joaquin man lost his life last Saturday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident in the Huxley area. 59-year old Guy Raymond Floyd, Jr. was headed north of FM 139, just north of the FM 417 intersection around 5 p.m., when he left the roadway in a KIA Sorento and struck a pine tree head-on. Justice of the Peace Pct. 3, Margie Anderson pronounced Floyd dead at the scene, and ordered an autopsy. Department of Public Safety troopers investigated the accident and say there's no sign Floyd attempted to brake before striking the tree.
