Last night the Tenaha Tigers took to the basketball hardwood in Cumby, and came away with a 64-44 win over Miller Grove in non-district play. The No. 7 state-ranked Tigers will be at Atlanta tonight.

 

Other round ball action tonight has the Timpson Bears hosting state-ranked West Sabine; and the #10 ranked San Augustine Wolves will be at Livingston Big Sandy.

 

The Center Roughriders are off to a 2-0 District 20-3A start, and have an open date tonight. The Riders are tied with Central atop the standings. In the district this evening, Carthage @ Central, Huntington @ Diboll and Jasper @ Hudson.

 

Also tonight, the Garrison Bulldogs host Crockett in District 19-2A play, and Kennard’s at Chireno to play the Owls in 25-1A Div. II.

 

On the girls’ side, it’s the start of district tonight for a number of teams. Timpson Lady Bears head to Shelbyville to play the Lady Dragons; the Tenaha Lady Tigers open district at home against Gary; the #16 state-ranked Joaquin Lady Rams are home to play Martinsville in their district opener; and the San Augustine Lady Wolves are in Pineland to take on West Sabine in the first district game.

 

The Lady Riders are open this evening.

 

On Saturday afternoon, the Shelbyville Dragons will be in Evadale in non-district action.

 

How ‘bout soccer? The Center Lady Riders have a scrimmage tonight in Marshall.
