Center ISD to provide basic school supplies for students

Dear Center ISD Parents and Guardians,

As the 2021-2022 school year closes, we wanted to share some good news with you about the upcoming school year. As you know, since March 2020, the COVID 19 pandemic has had a dramatic effect on elementary and secondary schools across the country. As a result, Congress enacted legislation that provided Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding for state and local educational agencies. The ESSER grant gives special consideration to the children whose families may have been adversely affected by the pandemic's impact economically. Therefore, in an effort to alleviate some of the stress at the start of school, Center ISD has decided to apply ESSER III funds to purchase every students' basic back-to-school supplies. The ESSER funding is temporary, so this service will be for the 2022-2023 school year only. Parents will be asked to provide their student’s backpack. If you have any questions, please contact your campus principal.

Sincerely,

Brian Morris, Superintendent
