Horse Judging - STATE QUALIFIERS

Congrats to Josh Stephenson for placing in the top 10 at region 5 high school rodeo in steer wrestling. This qualifies Josh for state in the Texas High School Rodeo Association.

Spring break was a big week for the horse judging team. They started the week off at the Area 9 competition. The team was 1st in the piney woods district and second in area. Kennedy Bush was overall high point individual in district and 3rd in area. Josh Stephenson was 6th in district and tied for 10th in area. This advanced the team to the state FFA contest.

At the end of the week the team competed at the district 5 4-H competition. The team placed second overall. All four team members placed in the top 10 individually. Kaleigh Pratt was 3rd, Kennedy Bush was 4th, Josh Stephenson was 5th, and Imari Bell was 7th. This advanced the team to the state 4-H contest.

To our knowledge, this is the first time the same four-man team, with the same coach, advanced to State FFA and State 4-H in the same event in the same year! Team members are Kennedy Bush, Josh Stephenson, Kaleigh Pratt, and Imari Bell. They are coached by Mrs. Coker. Congrats team!
