Christmas Eve Blood Drive at Center Police Department

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center held a local blood drive that was set up inside the Center Police Department Training Room on Christmas Eve. The drive was held from 11 am - 3:30 pm and had 35 participants with only 3 deferrals. Doners also received a hoodie for their donation.

Connie Weaver, the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center recruiter, said “[This drive is] the busiest Christmas Eve blood drive I’ve seen in 17 years.”

With double donors & plasma, they received 38 units of blood.

Amy Lindley, Center PD, said “The Center Police Department and Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center want to thank everyone that came and donated blood during our Christmas Eve Blood Drive.  We had a great and wonderful turn out! 38 units of blood is a big number to reach during drives, and will be a huge impact to those in need. Thank you to everyone that took the time to come out and show your support and help save lives.”
