The Tenaha Police Department are giving out bumper stickers for free to help emergency responders and law enforcement know if a person is special needs, hearing impaired, or have a disability. In addition officers with the Tenaha PD now have a pamphlet for how to communicate properly with a deaf or hearing impaired person.

This will help on multiple fronts both law enforcement will benefit and the public will also. The stickers will also aid in identifying elderly people that may go missing due to dementia, etc. The stickers tell of the person's disability in addition to bearing the Tenaha PD patch so if law enforcement or other first responders encounter them they will know who to contact.
For more information or if you need some of the bumper stickers or know of someone who could use them please contact the Tenaha Police Department at 936-248-3841.
