SHELBY COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a one-vehicle crash this afternoon, November 21, 2019, on FM 139, about one mile east FM 2427.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 3:10 p.m., 2003 International truck tractor transporting logs was traveling west on FM 139 at an unsafe speed and overturned; spilling a load of logs into the roadway.

The driver is identified as 56-year-old Mark Lathan from Nacogdoches. Lathan was not injured during the crash.

Motorist are urged to use caution in this area while cleanup efforts are being conducted.
