In DeSoto Parish at Fire District #1, they have their own dive team. These firemen battle fiery blazes and also search through the waters of the Sabine River when the call arises.

 

 

 

Fire Chief Mark Magee

 

Center Broadcasting Company met with their Chief Mark Magee and learned about the history of the dive team, which according to him began back in the 1980s.  Capt. Joey Lester informed us about their newer kind of diving suits, known as dry suits, which they have recently been certified to use.
