City Updating Parks Master Plan

The City of Center is currently in the process of updating the City’s Parks Master Plan which defines goals and projects for the continued maintenance and development of the City’s parks and recreational facilities over the next ten years.

To remain eligible for state and federal grant funds like those offered to local communities through Texas Parks and Wildlife, applicants are required to maintain a current plan that includes evaluation of current facilities, identification of all recreational amenities available, comparison with national averages, evaluation of needs and input on desired projects or improvements.  This plan was last updated in 2011 and many improvements and changes to the City’s park system have been achieved as a result of that process.

As this evaluation cycle concludes, an online survey is being utilized to obtain additional local input.  This brief, 10-question survey, usable once per location (computer IP) is now available.  The direct link is available on the City’s website www.centertexas.org or can be typed in as https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BJHGNMH.

Everyone that lives in Center or uses the City’s park system is encouraged to participate to improve the final report.  If you have ideas, this is the opportunity to provide that input and it will be appreciated. Upon completion, the draft Master Plan will be presented to the City Council for approval.
