It’s now time for the Center Broadcasting Community Spotlight of the Week. This Week’s Community Spotlight will be shedding light on a special coupple who is an inspiration to everyone who has had the privilege of meeting them. From San Augustine, we would like to highlight Herman and Naomi Garner. Herman and Naomi first met while Herman was working as a high school basketball coach and have been been together for 57 years. Herman celebrated his 100th birthday in June and Naomi will celebrate her 100th Birthday on Saturday. Herman believes they have stayed alive for so long because they never picked up bad habits such as drinking or smoking. Herman says the key to living a long life starts at a young age and maintaining a healthy lifestyle will elongate life. We want to thank Herman and Naomi Garner for being an inspiration as well as for providing a positive example for others to follow.
