Both Shelby and San Augustine Counties will have swear-in ceremonies for elected county officials next week. New Shelby County Sheriff-elect, Willis Blackwell will be administered his oath of office at midnight, Jan. 1 at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. Blackwell will join newly elected and re-elected officials during a formal event at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2 in the community room of the Shelby County Courthouse. In San Augustine County, all elected and re-elected office holders will receive their oaths during a ceremony at 10 a.m., New Years’ Day, Tuesday, in the county courtroom. The public is invited to attend these ceremonies.
