identified as 53-year-old Cedric Walker from Keithville, LA.

SHELBY COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash yesterday morning 10-13-19 on SH 7, inside the city limits of Joaquin.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 11:30 a.m., a 2017 Chevrolet van was traveling west when for unknown reasons the van crossed over the center of the roadway and into the eastbound lane where it struck a 2010 GMC pickup that was towing a travel trailer.

The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Shelby County Justice of the Peace. The identity of the driver is not available at this time pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the GMC is identified as 69-year-old Michael Webb from Etoile. Webb and a passenger were not injured during the crash.

This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
