On Friday, September 13, 2019, there was a fire that occurred at Watts & Watts BBQ located at 200 US-96 in San Augustine, Texas. According to the owner, Mr. Watts at around 11 a.m. a fire broke out in the pithouse and exploded at least one or more propane tanks, the fire did burn the side of the building and the pithouse shed.

Fortunately, no one was hurt and officials put out the fire at around 12 noon before it caused any major damage to the building, the pit house shed, however, did burn to a crisp with black charred support beams still partially holding it up.
