TxDOT Update

LUFKIN – A pre-construction meeting was held Monday in the Lufkin Area Office signaling the beginning of a new construction project in Angelina County.

Crews will begin work next week on FM 326 for the rehabilitation of the existing roadway that will consist of reconstructing and widening the pavement from SH 103 East to FM 1475 and from FM 1475 to US 69 South. Work will include the construction of 3-foot shoulders for a total roadway width of 28-feet.

Pinto Construction, Nacogdoches TX, will serve as contractor for the $3.6 million project that is expected to be completed by mid-2020, weather permitting. Work zone signage will be placed alerting motorists of workers and moving equipment through the area. Motorists should expect a single lane of traffic to be led by a lead car during the construction.

Motorists should prepare for delays and obey all flaggers and signage through the work zone. Stay alert and observe all speed limits in the area. For more information regarding projects and closures statewide, visit drivetexas.org.
