On September 5, 2019, at around 1:30 p.m. there was a gas leak that occurred in the Center area, near the Community Funeral Home.  The Center Fire Department responded to the scene.

According to Center Fire Chief Keith Byndom, there was a worker cutting the road right of ways and cut a gas riser. The gas leak was plugged and stopped until the gas company could arrive to make repairs.
