Tenaha ISD Begins the Year with New Additions to the Teaching Staff

 


Tenaha ISD students have begun the new school year with new faces in the classroom.  There are eight new additions to the teaching staff at Tenaha ISD.  Tenaha ISD takes pride in providing the best education possible and is excited to welcome new teachers to the Tenaha ISD family. The staff and students are looking forward to another stellar year.

 

 

 

 

Breanna Ball-Elementary Special Education Teacher
Breanna graduated Cum Laude in May of 2016 Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Interdisciplinary Studies Degree with an emphasis in Special Education.  She states that there are two main things that she wants out of her career, not money or status, but rather to be able to make a positive impact on people’s lives and to truly enjoy what she does.  Her goal is to provide young people with the same opportunities that were provided to her.  Teaching has always been her calling as a career, and her passion lies within special education. 

 

 

 

Daniel Ball-Middle School/High School Math and Coach

Coach Ball graduated from Texas A&M University in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics.  For the upcoming school year, he will be teaching 6th-grade math.  He will also be serving as an assistant football coach and head baseball coach.

 

 

Marlon Garrett-Career and Technology Teacher and Coach
Coach Garrett attended Kilgore College and earned an Associate’s degree in Arts & Science.  He has also attended SFA where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.  He also possesses a Master’s in Educational Leadership from American Intercontinental University.  This is Coach Garrett’s 5th year in education. Prior to beginning his career in education, he spent 16 years in the private business sector.


Coach Garrett is dedicated to the success of all students.  His goal is to see students set goals in life and work hard to reach those goals.  He is inspired to be a motivator for kids and show them that anything is possible if you work hard enough.  This year Coach Garrett is looking forward to building a strong relationship with all of the kids at Tenaha ISD.  Coach Garrett states that he wants to know that they can always go to him with any situation they have going on in their life.

 

 


                                                        
Shonda Elliott-Pk-4 Teacher
Mrs. Elliott received her Early Childhood degree in 1999 from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  She has taught students in grades PreK through 6th grade in North Carolina, Louisiana, and Texas.  She is a veteran educator with 18 years of experience.

 

 

 

 

Jennifer Myers-Middle School/High School Science
Mrs. Myers began teaching in 2001 as a Middle School Science teacher after graduating from SFA in Nacogdoches.  In 2004 she received her Master’s in Library and Information Systems from North Texas in Denton.  Mrs. Myers has a well-rounded teaching career.  She has been a librarian, yearbook teacher, UIL coordinator and completed her Administrator’s certification.  She has a passion for teaching.  In her free time she enjoys training dogs in competitive obedience, agility, nose work, rally and barn hunt.  She also shows dogs in conformation, which is the pretty dogs prancing around the ring!  During the summer she enjoys teaching swimming lessons to a number of children in Carthage and surrounding areas.

 

 

 

Bekah Rogers-High School Science
Ms. Rogers graduated from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall in 2011.  She has a passion for sports and played college basketball for the East Texas Baptist University Lady Tigers.   Ms. Rogers began her teaching career in 2012 and loves being involved in education and working with kids every day.

 

 

 

Cindy Pinder-1st Grade Teacher
Mrs. Pinder is a veteran teacher.  This will be her 18th year teaching kindergarten or first grade.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Steven F Austin State University in 2000.  Mrs. Pinder and her husband Denny have lived in Stanley, Louisiana for the past 26 years.  They have two sons and a daughter and seven grandchildren.  Mrs. Pinder enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

 

 

 


Jacqueline Scheider-4th, 5th, and 6th Grade Science
Mrs. Schneider began teaching science in 2001.  Prior to becoming a science teacher, she practiced as an emergency room nurse in Houston, Texas.  Mrs. Schneider enjoys the educational field and considers herself lucky to be able to have a job that gives so many rewards.  She has earned a degree in Medical Records Technology, and a bachelor degree in nursing.  Mrs. Schneider and her husband have three children and four grandchildren which are her heart and soul!  Mrs. Schneider and her husband travel around the country hiking through different parks with their dogs.
