Nacogdoches County Crash

 

 

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash early on the morning of August 26, 2019, on the SH 103 East bridge at the Angelina/Nacogdoches County boundary.

 

The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 8:30 a.m., a 2000 Peterbilt truck tractor towing a trailer carrying a piece of construction machinery was traveling east when the trailer reportedly had a blowout causing the trailer to strike the guardrail. 

 

After striking the guardrail the trailer became unsecured from the truck and struck the guardrail again causing the piece of machinery to fall into Lake Sam Rayburn. The trailer then struck a 2017 Ford pickup that was traveling
west.

 

The driver of the Peterbilt is identified as 41-year-old Patrick Wilkinson from
Huntsville, TX.

 

The driver of the Ford is identified as 69-year-old David Askey from Etoile, TX.

 

No injuries occurred as a result of this crash. No additional information is available at this time.
