On Sunday, August 4, 2019, at around 4:36 p.m. the West Shelby County Fire Department responded to a house fire on County Road 1211. According to their Fire Chief Jerryl Adams, the two-story home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene. The Center Fire Department assisted with a tanker fire truck.
The Martinsville Fire Department also responded as well. The fire was put out, but the home was a total loss. No person was harmed as a result of the fire. The West Shelby County Fire Department returned to their station at around 7 p.m. that evening.
