Exhumed remains fail to reveal anything new

In a press release Monday from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Newton Johnson says a second autopsy on the remains of 54-year old Danny Akridge confirms he died from Methamphetamine toxicity complicated by gastrointestinal hemorrhage. On Oct. 17, Akridge’s remains were exhumed from the Mt. Herman Cemetery, as requested by family members, and sent to the Forensic Medical Management Service in Tyler, in order to rule out any suspicion of foul play. Sheriff Johnson said the findings of the second autopsy confirmed the investigation findings of Constable Pct. 1 Zach Warr and the Sheriff’s Department. Akridge’s body was found in his home off State Hwy. 7 West in the Aiken Community. He was buried September 13th.
